Clinical Operations Intern: This SkillBridge internship provides a structured, observational experience for a licensed provider transitioning from military to civilian healthcare roles. Hosted in one of our busy outpatient clinics in Virginia Beach, the intern will gain insight into the inner workings of clinical operations, team-based care delivery, and administrative coordination in a civilian healthcare setting. Please note that, due to malpractice coverage limitations and other regulatory considerations, this SkillBridge internship does not include direct patient care or hands-on clinical responsibilities. Access to certain systems may also be limited.
ABOUT THE JOB
Shadow providers, nurses, and support staff to observe daily clinical workflows and team-based care.Observe patient-provider interactions to understand communication, care coordination, and clinical decision-making.Gain exposure to front- and back-office operations including scheduling, documentation, and insurance processes.Attend staff huddles, team meetings, and quality improvement discussions.Learn about EMR use, with limited viewing access when appropriate.Explore population health efforts, patient access strategies, and value-based care models.Understand healthcare compliance, HIPAA regulations, and clinic policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be an active-duty military service member eligible for the DoD SkillBridge program
- Must be a licensed provider with current, unrestricted credentials
- Strong interest in transitioning to a civilian healthcare role post-service
- Professional demeanor, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn
