This Internship Program is designed to prepare service members to transition to an FAA Certified Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic role post-separation.

ABOUT THE JOB

As a part of the Aviation Maintenance Development Program, this internship is a unique opportunity for transitioning service members to immerse themselves in a civilian aircraft maintenance operation with a Cargo Airline. Intern Requirements: These requirements will also match the requirements of the job title this program is designed to prepare participants to enter post-separation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft & components
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance inspections and work orders
  • Utilize maintenance manuals to identify repair procedures
  • Examine replacement aircraft parts for serviceability
  • Proper utilization of hand and power tools
  • Assist with aircraft maintenance record upkeep
  • Assist with any regulatory inspections and inquiries from the FAA
  • Track component and bench stock inventory and reorder as necessary
  • Communicate with the dispatch and operations team on aircraft status and availability

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Receive commander approval and be within 180 days of separation/retirement to participate in the Legends Airways SkillBridge internship
  • At least 30 months of practical experience in performing duties related to aircraft maintenance
  • An applicable MOS or AFSC in aircraft maintenance or a similar field
  • Ability to work collaboratively with fellow maintainers, instructors, and flight students as well as independently

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY

At least 30 months of practical experience in performing duties related to powerplant maintenance. An applicable MOS or AFSC in aircraft maintenance or a similar field.
