Physicians Mutual’s Human Resources Benefits team is hiring! The Senior Employee Benefits Specialist analyzes and recommends revisions to Employee Benefit plans and administrative procedures. Researches and resolves non-routine problems; assists management with development of annual Benefits budget, business plans, and ongoing monitoring of Benefits budget.

ABOUT THE JOB

Responsibilities Include:• Provides subject matter expertise to management, HR staff, and employees; provides advice and recommendations regarding business plans, budget, quality controls, and process enhancements.• Researches, analyzes and recommends revisions to employee benefit plan design.• Develops, communicates and promotes Employee Benefits plans to align with the Company’s strategy. • Monitors and builds HRIS reports to support decision making and verification.• Maintains detailed participation and financial records regarding benefit plan activity. • Serves as liaison with Third Party Administrators and outside consultants to monitor service and facilitate plan administration. • Coordinates daily administration of multiple Company provided Employee Benefit Plans. Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or equivalent work experience is required.• 5-7 Years’ prior employee benefits administration experience with strong organizational skills is required.• Strong knowledge of benefit plan principles, provisions, administrative procedures, Federal and State requirements and government regulations.• Strong knowledge of math and financial bookkeeping skills sufficient to calculate, maintain and verify detailed Trust account records, service and vesting calculations, and funding requirements.• Strong organizational skills and detail oriented to administer employee benefit plans with varying deadlines and priorities. Strong verbal and written communication skills.• Ability to maintain confidentiality in dealing with compensation, savings amounts, employee distributions, employee leave and health situations or other sensitive areas.• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.• Proficient in PC applications including Microsoft Word, Power Point and Outlook. Preferred Qualifications:• Recent experience with pension and retiree health compliance. • Certified Benefits Professional, SHRM-CP OR PHR designation desired. • Experience with ADP Health and Welfare Enterprise.
