VIRSIG is offering a hands-on opportunity for transitioning service members to gain experience as an Electronic Security System (ESS) Technician. The technician will support the installation, maintenance, and servicing of critical security systems including CCTV/video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection systems in a secure federal environment. The junior technician will work alongside senior technicians and gain exposure to physical security infrastructure, low-voltage systems, cable routing and terminations, and system troubleshooting. This role is ideal for those with experience in electronics, IT systems, or military occupational specialties related to communications, security, or electrical systems.
ABOUT THE JOB
Assist in the installation and configuration of electronic security systems (Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection); Terminate and test low-voltage cabling to ensure functionality and compliance with design specifications; Support senior technicians in troubleshooting and repairing system malfunctions and hardware issues; Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system layouts to guide installations; Maintain organized documentation of work performed, including cable labels and equipment configurations; Conduct system functionality checks and help ensure system testing and commissioning meet technical standards; Provide on-site support at a federal facility, following all security, safety, and access protocols; Learn and apply physical security standards and requirements (e.g., HSPD-12, FIPS 140-2)
