Air Conditioner Apprentice Training Program AIR CONDITIONING MAINTENANCE, TROUBLESHOOT AND INSTALATION
Entry-Level Air Conditioner (AC) Technician assists in the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial air conditioning systems.
ABOUT THE JOB
. Under supervision, they perform basic tasks such as inspecting units, replacing filters, cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and helping with system diagnostics. They follow safety protocols and manufacturer specifications while learning to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and use HVAC tools. This role serves as the foundation for developing technical skills and gaining field experience in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial air conditioning systems.
- Performs basic tasks such as inspecting units, replacing filters, cleaning coils, and checking refrigerant levels.
- Helps with system diagnostics, following safety protocols and manufacturer specifications.
- Learns to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and use HVAC tools.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as a U.S. Navy Machinist Mate Auxiliary Second Class Petty Officer.
- Operated, maintained, and repaired high-pressure/low-pressure air systems, hydraulic systems, and environmental control systems aboard a U.S. Navy submarine.
- Performed maintenance and troubleshooting on R134a refrigeration and air purification systems.
- Executed preventive maintenance system (PMS) tasks and ensured system readiness and compliance.
- Qualified as a 3M Craftsman, overseeing the completion of maintenance with strict attention to safety and Navy standards.
- Supported quality assurance during major repair periods, working with cross-functional teams to maintain operational excellence.
