ABOUT THE JOB
Saber Astronautics is seeking a passionate and skilled Software Developer to build advanced space operations tools that are user-friendly, resilient, and ready for real-world missions. You will be part of an agile, cross-functional engineering team working on critical software used by operators across military and commercial sectors to manage satellites, monitor space traffic, and make decisions under pressure.________________________________________Key Responsibilities• Design, implement, and maintain backend and/or frontend software for space operations and decision support platforms.• Collaborate with mission operators, data scientists, and UX designers to build features that directly impact real-world space missions.• Integrate real-time data sources such as telemetry streams, orbital dynamics, and space weather.• Write clean, testable, and efficient code using modern development practices.• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and system debugging.• Support deployment and delivery of software in cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.• Contribute to the evolution of Saber’s software architecture and internal toolchains.• Stay current with emerging technologies in space operations, visualization, and AI/ML.________________________________________Required Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.• Proficiency in one or more core languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java, or Go).• Experience with modern web development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) or 3D/game-style interfaces (e.g., Unity, WebGL) is a plus.• Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (e.g., Docker).• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.________________________________________Preferred Qualifications• Experience with aerospace or mission-critical systems.• Familiarity with space domain topics (orbital mechanics, satellite telemetry, SSA/SDA).• Exposure to AI/ML pipelines or decision support systems.• Experience with 3D visualization libraries (e.g., CesiumJS, Babylon.js, Unreal).• U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
