Morris L. Hayhurst LaunchLab at West Virginia University
Uses communication and recruiting skills to identify and recruit new members for the Morris L. Hayhurst LaunchLab. Job entails visiting classrooms, WVU club meetings and other events to present the LaunchLab. Providing tours of the LaunchLab for interested students, faculty, staff and alumni. Developing tactical plans for communications across the university campus.
ABOUT THE JOB
The intern will learn about different areas of business, recruiting, pitching business ideas and developing communication plans. Training will be provided in the area of recruitment, and the entrepreneurial mindset, building recruitment plans, key components of the ‘lean startup’ methodology and persuasive communication to diverse communities. The intern will also work in the areas of event planning, social media communication, project management and coaching skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Uses communication and recruiting skills to identify and recruit new members for the Morris L. Hayhurst LaunchLab
- Visiting classrooms, WVU club meetings, and other events to present the LaunchLab
- Providing tours of the LaunchLab for interested students, faculty, staff, and alumni
- Developing tactical plans for communications across the university campus
- Work in the areas of event planning, social media communication, project management, and coaching skills
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree normally required
- Skills in recruitment and entrepreneurial mindset
- Ability to develop communication plans
- Understanding of 'lean startup' methodology
- Skills in persuasive communication to diverse communities
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY
To receive the pay listed, normally a bachelor's degree would be required.
