Legal Assistant/Paralegal General Practice On the job training
As a Legal Assistant/Paralegal, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the legal field from an inside perspective. Participants will assist attorneys with legal cases in various areas of law. Tasks will include drafting, legal research, and client interfacing. Participants will also have the chance to learn about law firm business management.
ABOUT THE JOB
Legal Assistants/Paralegals at our firm support attorneys and the legal team by providing vital administrative and clerical assistance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Managing client files and maintaining accurate records.• Acting as the first point of contact for clients, scheduling appointments, and facilitating communication between attorneys and clients.• Performing conflict checks and managing case management systems.• Drafting and formatting legal correspondence and routine documents under attorney supervision.• Organizing attorney calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating appointments.• Preparing and organizing documents for meetings and hearings.• Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, including phone calls, emails, and mail.• Assisting with office tasks, such as filing, photocopying, and scanning.• Performing legal research
RESPONSIBILITIES

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe PDF software.
- Strong communication skills, including phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Prior experience in an office or legal environment is preferred but not required
