ABOUT THE JOB
The Underwriting Associate supports the underwriting team in evaluating insurance applications, gathering and analyzing data, and ensuring timely processing of policies. This role is ideal for individuals with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an interest in building a career in insurance underwriting.Key Responsibilities:Assist underwriters in reviewing insurance applications and related documents for completeness and accuracy.Gather, verify, and analyze information from various sources (e.g., credit reports, loss histories, financial statements).Prepare and input data into underwriting systems and maintain accurate records.Communicate with agents, brokers, and clients to obtain missing information or clarify details.Support the preparation of quotes, binders, and policy documents.Monitor the status of applications and follow up as needed to ensure timely processing.Assist in the evaluation of risk and the determination of appropriate coverage terms and pricing.Maintain compliance with company guidelines, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.Provide administrative support to the underwriting team as needed.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).1-2 years of experience in insurance, underwriting, or a related administrative role preferred.Strong analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with insurance software systems.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.Team player with a proactive and customer-focused attitude.Benefits:Competitive salary and benefits packageOpportunities for professional development and advancementSupportive and collaborative team environment
