Military4Hire and Kasai Consulting are providing a hybrid SkillBridge opportunity based in San Diego, CA that combines hands-on/on-the-job training with structured courses. This program is designed to help transitioning service members build a strong foundation for a civilian career in Environmental Health & Safety through guided training, mentorship, and industry-recognized certifications. Upon completion, participants are prepared for roles such as EHS Technician, Safety Coordinator, Environmental Compliance Specialist, and more.
Participants will learn hazardous materials handling, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance (EPA, OSHA, DOT), while gaining real-world experience in a structured environment. The program includes industry training such as the 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and follows a progressive learning model from foundational skills to hands-on application.Duties and responsibilities include: -Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)-Assist with maintaining waste inventories and documentation (logs, manifests, inspection records)-Collect, label, and transport waste (chemical, biological, and universal waste) in accordance with established procedures-Segregate and consolidate waste streams to ensure compatibility and regulatory compliance-Maintain satellite accumulation areas and central waste storage areas in compliance with regulations (e.g., EPA, DOT, and state requirements)-Participate in safety training and contribute to continuous improvement of waste handling practices
