Oversees the pursuit of a new business opportunity and manages the transition from discovery of the opportunity to award.
The Capture Manager will be trained and mentored to effectively drive opportunities from the initial capture decision through to contract award, gaining hands-on experience and expertise across the full spectrum of internal capture activities. The Capture Manager will learn to formulate, communicate, and implement integrated capture strategies—including pricing approaches, teaming arrangements, competitive intelligence and analysis, client relationship management, and technical solution/concept development—while receiving guidance and training to master these critical elements. The Capture Manager will develop skills in leveraging existing customer and industry peer relationships to identify leads and new business opportunities through structured training, coaching, and practical application. The Capture Manager will be trained to establish and strengthen solid relationships and partnerships with key prime contractor organizations and subcontractors on both existing and prospective programs. The Capture Manager will gain experience interacting with a broad range of internal departments—including Communications, Human Resources, Finance, Pricing, and Business Management—to learn how to develop and refine effective win strategies. The Capture Manager will receive training in preparing and presenting executive-level recommendations, such as go/no-go briefings, to senior leadership, building the confidence and capability to deliver these presentations independently over time. The Capture Manager will learn to identify and participate in relevant marketing events—such as trade shows, conferences, and partner meetings—that support capture objectives, while being coached on best practices for engagement, networking, and follow-up activities focused on industry and partner interactions. The Capture Manager may receive mentorship responsibilities and training in providing work leadership to lower-level employees, learning how to effectively guide and develop junior team members in capture best practices and processes. All training and development will emphasize internal coordination, strategy formulation, teaming, competitive analysis, and partnership building within the industry ecosystem.
