Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist who has successfully completed our structured accounting internship program. This role is designed for a candidate who is ready to take ownership of small client accounts and perform full-cycle bookkeeping under light supervision.Key Responsibilities• Manage monthly bookkeeping for assigned small business clients• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations• Record and post adjusting journal entries• Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)• Assist with payroll processing and payroll journal entries• Track and prepare 1099 vendor documentation• Assist with sales tax filings• Identify and correct bookkeeping discrepancies• Communicate with clients regarding missing documentation• Support year-end CPA packagesRequired Skills• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping• Experience with QuickBooks Online• Ability to perform account reconciliations independently• Working knowledge of accrual accounting concepts• Proficiency in Excel (SUMIFS, pivot tables, lookups)• Strong written and verbal communication skills• High attention to detail and organizational abilityPerformance Expectations - Within first 90 days, employee should be able to:• Independently close 3–5 small clients monthly• Maintain 98%+ reconciliation accuracy• Require minimal review adjustments• Manage client communications professionallyOverall Internship Objective?By the end of 6 months, the intern should be able to:1.
