The Brawley Police Department is offering a SkillBridge internship opportunity for transitioning service members to gain real-world experience in crime prevention, youth development, and community engagement. This role is ideal for service members interested in pursuing a civilian career in public service, law enforcement, nonprofit youth services, or community outreach.Interns will play a key role in supporting and improving youth-focused programs and helping build safer, stronger community relationships through proactive education and collaboration.Key Responsibilities:Assist with the planning, development, and delivery of crime prevention initiatives and youth engagement programsSupport and help facilitate existing youth programs, including:Police Explorer ProgramBoxing AcademyFC & MLS Soccer ClubsPolice E-Sports AcademyCollaborate with School Resource Officers (SROs), Crime Prevention Coordinators, and Community Liaison Officers on school-based and after-school programmingConduct or co-host educational sessions on safety, bullying prevention, conflict resolution, and internet awarenessEngage directly with youth, parents, and community partners during events and workshopsAssist in program evaluation, including survey development and data collectionShadow department leadership and participate in planning meetings and outreach events
