The Human Resources SkillBridge Training Program at OceanFirst Bank is designed to equip transitioning service members with the tools, knowledge, and real-world HR experience needed to thrive in corporate talent management. This comprehensive six-month program includes hands-on training, mentorship, and shadowing opportunities within various HR functions such as talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits, payroll, compensation, HRIS, and organizational development & training. Participants will gain exposure to HR systems, compliance, employee engagement strategies, and process improvement projects, culminating in a capstone project and final assessments to ensure career readiness.
ABOUT THE JOB
WHAT YOU WILL DO:1. Assumes responsibility for assigned HR projects and initiatives, offers support in project design aligned with HR strategic goals. Prepares and updates reports. Establish timelines and ensure the completion of projects.2. Provides assistance in employee relations matters, including tracking documentation, supporting investigations and partnering to resolve employee matters. 3. Facilitates fair and compliant HR processes especially related to talent acquisition and employee matters. 4. Provides general support to the HR team including but not limited to preparing reports, documents, and presentations. 5. Works collaboratively with the HR team to ensure compliance with established standards and procedures. reviews and recommends changes when necessary. 6. Coordinates with HRBP and the Bank’s unemployment vendor to ensure timely and accurate responses for unemployment inquiries. 7. Acts as a back-up to the HR Coordinator and provides support, as necessary. Strong ability to design PowerPoint presentations and effectively communicate key items.• Analytical skills with strong attention to detail.• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to organize time and resources and to set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure.• Ability to analyze administrative processes and recommend workflow solutions.
