USDA Forest Service Bighorn National Forest
Work as a Forestry Technician with the Bighorn National Forest. Technicians support critical program work in the field, conducting monitoring and reporting of field conditions to support overall resource management.
ABOUT THE JOB
Forestry Technicians will gain a fundamental understanding of the interdisciplinary process for resource management with the Forest Service. The Forest Service will train individuals in base program work, core safety practices, and program specific protocols. Individuals will have opportunities to support the aquatics and watershed program, the timber and vegetation management programs, wildlife programs, range and invasive plant management programs, and recreation management. Availability from May-October required. No internships currently available outside of these dates.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct monitoring and reporting of field conditions to support overall resource management.
- Support critical program work in the field.
- Gain a fundamental understanding of the interdisciplinary process for resource management.
- Support various programs such as aquatics and watershed, timber and vegetation management, wildlife, range and invasive plant management, and recreation management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Availability from May-October.

OTHER
Candidates will have options at three duty stations: Buffalo, Greybull, and Sheridan Wyoming. Individual will be responsible for paying for housing.
