The AllegiantVETS Human Resources SkillBridge Track prepares active-duty service members and military spouses for civilian careers in HR, talent operations, and workforce administration. This training pathway combines daily live-led instruction, guided coursework, and hands-on practice to help participants learn foundational HR principles while translating their existing military experience—such as leadership, communication, and personnel management—into practical HR competencies.Participants gain exposure to professional standards in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and organizational culture. The program also includes résumé development, interview preparation, LinkedIn optimization, and direct job-matching support through AV Connect and our nationwide network of employer partners. With command approval, participants continue to receive full military compensation while preparing for a smooth transition into an HR role that supports the growth and wellbeing of a civilian workforce.
Participants in the Human Resources SkillBridge track will train for roles that support the people operations of an organization. Throughout the program, service members will learn how to assist with recruiting efforts, coordinate candidate interviews, support new hire onboarding, and maintain accurate employee records. They will also gain experience with day-to-day HR functions such as responding to employee inquiries, helping manage compliance documentation, scheduling training sessions, and supporting workplace communication and engagement initiatives.The HR role requires professionalism, organization, confidentiality, and strong interpersonal skills. As part of the training experience, participants will practice navigating HR software systems, working with hiring managers, and ensuring that policies and processes are followed consistently. By the end of the track, participants will be prepared to step into roles such as HR Assistant, Talent Acquisition Coordinator, HR Generalist Support, or People Operations Specialist. They will understand how HR contributes to team performance, company culture, and overall organizational success, making them valuable contributors to any civilian workplace.
