This 12-week program prepares transitioning service members for careers as Federal Planners focusing primarily on infrastructure consulting. The curriculum combines technical knowledge, consulting skills, and federal sector expertise.
In this internship you will learn Federal Planning by serving as a consultant responsible for preparing strategic documents for Federal/Military clients, as well as State and Local Government clients. Federal Planning is a multi-disciplinary, analytical process that requires collaboration amongst team members with diverse skill sets to create products that drive long term infrastructure strategy. In this role, you will learn valuable consulting skills and frameworks tied to stakeholder management, client engagement practices, and how to perform in a matrix organization.
- Active security clearance - Minimum 6 months before separation from the military- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in planning, architecture, engineering, surveying, GIS, or project management.- Ability to assess the implications of military missions on facilities and infrastructure recommendations.- Familiarity with military facility development, installation management, and project management.- Command approval for participation. While in this internship, you will be expected to devote your full time to developing as a Federal Planner intern. Please ensure your chain of command understands and is willing to provide you with the dedicated time to focus on your transition from the military into a civilian career. You will be expected to be 100% committed to this program without external unit responsibilities.
