With a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, StandardAero Houston is dedicated to keeping business aviation flying safely and efficiently.As a SkillBridge Mechanic Trainee, working on the Airframe side of our operations you will learn to perform technical inspections and troubleshooting as well as cross training in other complementary skillsets such as Structures and Avionics. Working with a team of specialized A&P Mechanics, you will maintain midsized corporate aircraft and perform operational checks. What You'll DoFollow all required standards in the performance of assigned work displaying appropriate competencies in accordance with FAA Regulations, OEM manuals, and related materials. Conduct necessary troubleshooting and/or repair Disassembly and assembly of various aircraft components according to sequence utilizing aircraft tools and other equipment for repair and/or overhaul.Inspect aircraft parts to determine and/or perform NDT requirements.Utilizes applicable database system in order to retrieve information regarding parts inventory, manufacturing models, serial numbers, and/or other pertinent information to ensure proper documentation.Refer to technical publications, specification sheets and/or other regulatory requirements in order to ensure that all tasks have been completed in proper sequence and required signed-off.

JOB TITLE: Aircraft Mechanic Trainee – Skill Bridge Candidates OnlyREPORTS TO: Airframe Crew ChiefGRADE: 9 (B-1432)Job Duties:• Follow all required standards in the performance of assigned work displaying appropriate competencies in accordance with FAA Regulations, OEM manuals, and related materials. • Conduct necessary troubleshooting and/or repair • Disassembly and assembly of various aircraft components according to sequence utilizing aircraft tools and other equipment for repair and/or overhaul.• Inspect aircraft parts to determine and/or perform NDT requirements.• Utilizes applicable database system in order to retrieve information regarding parts inventory, manufacturing models, serial numbers, and/or other pertinent information to ensure proper documentation.• Refer to technical publications, specification sheets and/or other regulatory requirements in order to ensure that all tasks have been completed in proper sequence and required signed-off.Requirements:• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.• Must be a Skill Bridge DOD qualified candidate.• A prospective student must be able to meet screening and security requirements to obtain an airport badge.• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.• Ability to attain FAA A&P certificate within 1 year of hire, as applicable.• Computer literacy skills are required, as well as the ability to read, interpret and understand technical manuals, micrometers and other precision-measuring instruments and tools. • Must be able to accurately read/interpret dimensions and measurements.Physical Requirements:• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.• Must be able to stand a minimum of 8 hours per day and walk long distances.• Must be able to bend, stretch, crawl, and climb ladders in order to work on areas within the aircraft that are difficult to access.• Must be able to think clearly and speak intelligibly on the telephone and in person.• Must be able to manipulate equipment of all sizes, tools, computer keyboards, and telephones.• Must be able to work outside in extremes of temperature and inclement weather.• Must be able to see to disassemble and visually inspect.• Must be able to hear to detect the sources of problems.• Must have excellent hand-to-eye coordination.SkillBridge Specific Information:This is an unpaid fellowship through the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program.
