White Birch Armory
The Program is intended to give future management employees experience in all aspects of day-to-day operation throughout the organization. This will prepare the intern for either operating their own Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) gunsmithing or retail shop, or for management roles at White Birch Armory or other firearms related operations.
ABOUT THE JOB
The intern will work side by side with each department manager to implement all aspects of the Armory in an in-person, hands-on manner. Retail / Wholesale: Specifically, as it pertains to all aspects of personnel management, hiring, scheduling, training employees. Additional training on ordering and interfacing with warehouse management. Range Operations: Safety, Staffing, Environmental/HAZMAT management, regulation compliance. Contracting: Compliance with federal, state and local regulations on bidding, sourcing and BATF oversight for sales to government agencies. Training: Developing new classes for customers, training plans for range safety officers, and advertising and scheduling these trainings. Warehouse: different methods and programs that will assist in inventory tracking, ordering and ensuring sufficient stocks for the retail / wholesale operation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work side by side with each department manager to implement all aspects of the Armory in an in-person, hands-on manner.
- Handle responsibilities in Retail/Wholesale including personnel management, hiring, scheduling, and training employees.
- Engage in Range Operations focusing on safety, staffing, and Environmental/HAZMAT management.
- Manage Contracting processes including compliance with federal, state, and local regulations on bidding and sourcing.
- Develop new classes for customers, training plans for range safety officers, and manage advertising and scheduling of these trainings.
- Assist in Warehouse operations including inventory tracking, ordering, and ensuring sufficient stocks.

Intern can be expected to lift up to 50lbs, perform repetitive tasks, interact with other managers, associates, and customers, need to be punctual, organized, attentive to detail, willing to learn, and participate in all Armory activities. Participant will provide their own transportation to the Armory. Work days will vary, include weekends and evening, but will not exceed 40 hours per week. Intern is expected to dress appropriately in business casual attire and will be provided any protective equipment needed for range operations. Intern will be expected to revise and produce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each department to gauge learning.
