Revielle Suicide Prevention/Intervention Peer Support Training
Peer Workforce Career Development Training Programs: Courage to Change: Whole Health Management, Reveille: Suicide Prevention/Crisis Intervention, & ReBOOT: Substance Use Disorder Recovery. Earning US DHHS SAMHSA Certificates (40 hours) for each program. Interns are eligible for all three trainings as well as post-training Internships of 500 hours (total 540-620 hour) internship opportunity.

ABOUT THE JOB
Peer Support Specialist (PSS) or Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) is a peer-based mental health, substance use recovery (or co-occurring) support service that is non-clinical and designed to engage others beyond initiation through stabilization and into long-term well-being.PSS/PRS works together with individuals or groups of participants assisting them on their path to recovery, providing specific programs Courage to Change © (Your Thinking), ReBOOT, and Reveille; One More Day, These programs enable the client with plans to promote individual growth and healing. The Peer Recovery Specialist will function as a role model to clients, exhibiting competence in personal recovery, use of positive coping skills, serving as a client advocate, and supporting the client in establishing and maintaining their personal recovery. The peer recovery specialist will perform various tasks to assist peers in regaining health, stability, and sustainability in the long term.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work together with individuals or groups of participants assisting them on their path to recovery.
- Provide specific programs such as Courage to Change (Your Thinking), ReBOOT, and Reveille; One More Day.
- Function as a role model to clients, exhibiting competence in personal recovery.
- Use positive coping skills, serve as a client advocate.
- Support the client in establishing and maintaining their personal recovery.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Peer-based mental health, substance use recovery (or co-occurring) support service experience.
- Ability to engage others beyond initiation through stabilization and into long-term well-being.
