You will train to become a field service technician traveling around California to various power plants and conducting routine maintenances as well as troubleshooting shutdown failures on Prime Power generators that run 24/7 365 days. You will do real maintenance because of the hightened runtime hours. This is not a job where you travel around doing oil changes, it is real mechanical, electrical and thermal work. You will change cylinder heads, connecting rods and main bearings. You will troubleshoot alternator power and Generator circuit breaker issues and you will become an expert at power plant control technology. You will be highly trained by our expert team with an intense curriculum so that when you are done with the program you will be set up for success with us or anyone else in the private Generator market.
Reporting to the Service Area Manager, the Service Technician ensures support to our customers, through the oversight of the sales commitments and utilizing internal and external resources for 2G Energy while supporting our shared corporate goals.Essential Job Functions:- Provide technical support to maintain, troubleshoot and resolve equipment mechanical and electrical problems; including but not limited to generator set and balance of plant equipment.- Maintain, analyze, assess, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair various OEM scope as installed at customer sites- Professionally communicate with customers and maintain a confidential customer relation ensuring maximum client satisfaction.- Assist customers with telephone support to address technical issues.- Assist the Service Area Manager, establish parts and labour estimates required for equipment and system repairs.- Comply with all company Health & Safety Policies, including site safety surveys.- Maintain, establish and identify Service vehicle tooling/parts/etc. requirements.- Work closely with the 2g team and the various OEM’s to optimize the performance of power generation systems across our territory.- Field customer’s phone calls as defined by the 2G leadership.- Field Service Calls when on call.- Complete detailed Field Service Report’s before leaving a customer site and submit expenses weekly to the Service Manager or his alternate.- Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record and report all driving infractions immediately.- Demonstrate compliance with 2G policies and procedures including participation in on-going job related training.- Proactive operations at our facilities with contracts as / if assigned.- All other duties as assigned.
Anyone who has Large Diesel Engine maintenance experience Or has a lot of experience with Electrical components, switchgear and interconnections.
