Senior Specialist – Cybersecurity (Military‑Friendly)MissionProtect the organization’s systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This role focuses on defending digital assets, identifying and responding to incidents, reducing risk, and supporting secure operations for the company, its customers, and partners.
What You’ll Do (Mission Responsibilities)You will apply your cybersecurity experience to support defensive operations, incident response, and continuous improvement of security posture. Typical responsibilities include the following, depending on the organization and team assignment(s).Cyber Defense & Incident ResponseMonitor systems and networks for cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activityRespond to security incidents using established incident response proceduresSupport containment, recovery, and post‑incident analysisSecurity Operations & Policy ExecutionRelevant Domains: Cloud, Data Protection, Encryption, Network, IAM, and AI!Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls, standards, and proceduresSupport enforcement of security policies to protect systems, applications, and dataConduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actionsRisk Assessment & Mission PlanningIncluding Program/Project execution, validation and KPI's (evaluate success), and cost/budget exercisesIdentify and assess cybersecurity risks to systems and operationsRecommend mitigation strategies to reduce operational and business impactContribute to forward‑looking security planning, research, and innovationTechnical Support & Cross‑Team CoordinationProvide technical support for security‑related issues and troubleshootingWork closely with IT, engineering, and business teams to integrate security into operationsSupport cybersecurity projects and continuous improvement initiativesAreas of Experience That Translate WellExperience in one or more of the following areas is highly relevant (military and civilian experience welcomed):Cyber incident response and digital forensicsNetwork and system security (defensive operations)Vulnerability assessment and remediationCyber risk analysis and threat intelligenceSecurity testing of applications, systems, or productsCyber policy, compliance, and security standardsCyber training, awareness, or operational readinessIoT, software assurance, or secure system engineeringLevel of ResponsibilityExperienced professional who applies established cybersecurity practices to solve moderately complex problemsWorks independently on assigned missions with limited supervisionMakes decisions that impact system security, operational efficiency, timelines, and customer trustCollaborates primarily within the team and with senior leaders across the organizationQualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldMilitary training and experience may be considered in place of a degreeExperience: 2+ years of hands‑on cybersecurity, IT security, or cyber operations experienceCertifications: Security+, CySA+, CEH, CISSP, or similar certifications may be required for some assignmentsMilitary Veterans Encouraged to ApplyRelevant experience may include Cyber Operations, Signal, Intelligence, Communications, Network Operations, or Information Assurance roles
