This progressive training program prepares SARCs through four phases: classroom instruction on SAPR policies, DSAID protocols, and command engagement; mentored fieldwork focused on CMG participation, reporting requirements, SAV/CGI preparation, and SAPR training delivery; risk management and final assessments through trend analysis, policy drafting, and a capstone project; and advanced leadership training to strengthen program management, policy development, and credential maintenance.
SARCs serve as the command’s primary coordinator for all sexual assault response efforts within their AOR. They provide non-clinical, trauma-informed support to adult victims, supervise SAPR VAs, manage case documentation, ensure accurate DSAID reporting, and serve as the command’s liaison to leadership and multidisciplinary teams. SARCs lead CMG participation, conduct SAVs and CGIs, oversee SAPR training, and advise commanders on trends, risk mitigation, and program compliance.
Basic qualifications include a degree in behavioral or social sciences, equivalent education and experience, or four years of relevant experience. Candidates must also have at least one year of specialized SAPR experience at the next lower grade level.
