The SkillBridge Maritime Safety Officer Fellowship is a 12-week program at Monocle Marine in South Florida, designed to transition active-duty service members into the private maritime sector. The program leverages their elite military training in leadership and emergency response to manage safety standards for a fleet of luxury motor yachts and sailing vessels. The curriculum is structured into four phases, focusing on legal compliance, operational safety development (including SOPs and risk assessments), hands-on service execution during client charters, and a Capstone Project. The goal is to maximize the service member's post-military career trajectory by preparing them for a full-time role as a Maritime Safety Officer.
Maritime Safety Officer: Monocle Marine is seeking a highly disciplined professional with elite military experience in emergency response, leadership, and acute risk mitigation to transition into a Maritime Safety Officer role. Responsibilities include developing Vessel Emergency SOPs, conducting risk assessments, and completing a Capstone Project to create an "Enhanced Safety and Risk Matrix" for a fleet of $40+ million luxury vessels.
