KSAs to include management of FloTrack device, Prismaflex CRRT, ECMO, cardiac devices such as LVAD and Impella as well as vasoactive medications and invasive monitoring. Education plan to also include training in EPIC charting system. Due to the advanced pace and intensive nature of level I trauma critical care, service member will be taught to manage facility and unit specific devices, policy and protocol over a 12 week period. Despite previous work under DHA, civilian level I facilities such as WakeMed require a thorough orientation and precepting program. DHA widely utilizes different devices, protocols and electronic charting systems, as well as lower patient acuities and nurse to patient ratios. This training will facilitate service member in a safe transition to civilian critical care as service member has never experienced civilian nursing and will undergo a large learning curve in said transition from military medicine to civilian level I trauma.
