The Field Service Internship Program will prepare you to excel as a Field Service Technician. It includes both in-classroom training and field experiences. Classroom training is conducted with an instructor in a traditional classroom setting and an electrical testing lab. Field experiences are conducted on the job under a Field Service supervisor.
Field Service Technicians are responsible for performing preventative maintenance, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of high voltage electrical systems for customers across the United States. Technicians must be willing to work independently or part of a team in field environments. This position requires travel, with jobs typically lasting 1-3 weeks (no more than 4 weeks in one location) at a time. It is not a traditional 9-5 and might require some overtime and weekends.
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record Ability to pass a drug test at any time Physically fit enough to lift up to 50 lbs, carry equipment, kneel, climb, and walk long distances if needed. Basic computer skills that include email, Microsoft Excel and Word, Adobe Reader, Dropbox, etc.
