THIS ROLE IS IN PERSON IT ARLINGTON, VA. You will be joining Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA)/Cyber Security Division (CSD)/Vulnerability Management (VM) Sub-Division/ as a member of our leadership team. This team supports CISA’s efforts to enhance the security, resiliency, and reliability of the Nation’s cyber infrastructure. The service member will participate in a 180-day program where they will serve as an Action Officer supporting the Associate Director (AD) of the Subdivision (SES level). This role is ideal for a junior to mid-level officer with prior experience as an aide-de-camp, executive officer, or member of a battalion-level staff or Commander’s Action Group, but open to all ranks. You will operate at the strategic level of federal cybersecurity, helping shape the battle rhythm and execution of a high-visibility mission set protecting the nation’s federal network and critical infrastructure. You will directly support senior leadership by ensuring strategic alignment, coordination, and synchronization across internal and external stakeholders, as well as lead key initiatives on behalf of the AD. This is not an analyst role – it’s a dynamic, fast-paced billet ideal for someone used to briefing senior leaders, tracking high-priority tasks, and facilitating communication flows. Through this role, you will gain a high-level view of how strategic cybersecurity policy and operations are coordinated at the national level. You’ll also sharpen your executive communication and task management skills while supporting one of the most mission-critical portfolios at CISA.

ABOUT THE JOB

THIS ROLE IS IN PERSON IT ARLINGTON, VA. Serve as the primary action officer for the SES-level Associate Director. Manage executive level taskers, follow-ups, and stakeholder coordination across the agency. Prepare and refine briefing materials, read-aheads, and high-level correspondence. Schedules and coordinate meetings to include, reserving rooms for meetings; agenda preparation, note taking and room set up. Participates in operations or planning meetings to discuss milestones and activities and develops minutes and records of meetings and pending issues. Represent leadership in working groups, information syncs, and interagency engagements. Facilitate and improve internal knowledge sharing through dashboards, trackers, and summary products. Provide daily situational awareness updates and contribute to strategic messaging products. Keeps minutes of meetings and prepare administrative reports, PowerPoint presentations and memoranda as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Secret Clearance Required.
  • Ideal candidate should be an O2-O4, although all ranks are welcome to apply, with at least one year of experience in communications and knowledge management.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively document processes, procedures, and external reference documentation.
  • Familiar with knowledge management tools (including but not limited to ServiceNow, SharePoint, O365 Suite, etc).
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and briefing skills.
  • Experience as an aide-de-camp, executive officer, or member of a battalion-level staff or Commander’s Action Group, and XP in cybersecurity.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY

THIS ROLE IS IN PERSON IT ARLINGTON, VA. Secret Clearance Required. The ideal candidate should be an O2-O4, although all ranks are welcome to apply, with at least one year of experience in communications and knowledge management. Demonstrated attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to effectively document processes, procedures, and external reference documentation. Familiar with knowledge management tools (including but not limited to ServiceNow, SharePoint, O365 Suite, etc). Strong interpersonal, writing, and briefing skills. BONUS QUALS are Experience as an aide-de-camp, executive officer, or member of a battalion-level staff or Commander’s Action Group, and XP in cybersecurity.
