Idaho Youth Ranch
The Idaho Youth Ranch is offering a SkillBridge opportunity for transitioning service members to train as an Administrator on Duty (AOD) at our Residential Center for Healing and Resilience—a therapeutic, 64-bed facility for youth located on our expansive campus in Treasure Valley, Idaho. This role is ideal for individuals with strong leadership, decision-making, and crisis management skills who are seeking hands-on experience in residential care and organizational oversight.
ABOUT THE JOB
As an AOD, you’ll serve as the primary point of contact during your assigned shift, ensuring the safety, security, and smooth operation of the entire facility. You’ll work closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team and program leadership to respond to non-routine situations, support staff coordination, and maintain program integrity. Your responsibilities will include overseeing shift staffing, directing staff in crisis scenarios, facilitating transportation logistics, inspecting the campus grounds, and monitoring compliance in all program areas.You’ll be instrumental in maintaining a calm, structured environment, coordinating emergency drills, managing call-outs, responding to incidents, and guiding teams through high-stakes or unexpected events. Whether you’re checking on facility safety, supervising youth indirectly through staff, or ensuring reports and protocols are followed after an incident, your presence and leadership will help ensure the campus remains a safe, therapeutic space for healing.This SkillBridge role provides real-world experience in operational leadership, safety oversight, crisis response, and team supervision in a residential treatment environment—skills that are highly transferable to civilian careers in human services, public safety, nonprofit management, or education.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY
Candidates must be at least 21 years of age, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and possess or be willing to obtain driver’s license within 15 days of hire. A strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, emotional intelligence, and the ability to maintain clear boundaries with youth is essential.
