Horizon Pack & Ship offers transitioning service members a 12-week hands-on Operations Manager training program across our Radcliff and Elizabethtown, KY retail locations. Participants gain real-world experience in multi-carrier shipping operations, customer service, staff leadership, inventory management, and small business development.
The Retail Operations Manager trainee will work alongside experienced store leadership to learn all aspects of running a high-volume shipping and business services retail location. Daily responsibilities include processing shipments via UPS, FedEx, DHL, and USPS; managing customer interactions; operating the PostalMate POS system; supervising staff; handling cash and inventory; and supporting local marketing efforts. This role directly prepares service members for civilian careers in retail management, logistics, and small business operations.
Open to all branches and components. Participants must have commanding officer approval to participate in SkillBridge. No prior retail or shipping experience required. Strong preference for candidates with leadership background and interest in small business ownership or operations management post-transition.
