Infinite Energy Construction is accepting applications for military professionals that are transitioning into the civilian workforce in the SkillBridge Program. The SkillBridge opportunity is an internship that will provide deliberate and structured access and training on key business processes that will prepare the individual for success in a Construction Management position in the open market and at Infinite Energy Construction (at the end of the internship). This position will support a multi-year IDIQ contract at Fort Irwin, CA by assisting IEC’s Project Management and Superintendent staff throughout the entire life cycle of assigned construction projects. This position will be primarily (70%) field bases with some office responsibilities. Candidates should be interested in the Construction field and in developing a dynamic career of in the Construction Management.
ABOUT THE JOB
Essential Job Functions:Under the direction of a Project Manager assist in project management for construction projects Track costs and labor for assigned projectsWork with field leadership to ensure on-time/budget projectsUtilize estimating software to create estimates (line item and FFP) Draft necessary contract paperwork: subcontractor agreements, purchase orders, change ordersManage/manipulate submittals and shop drawings for assigned projectsCreate monthly progress billing reports and close out documentation,Secure quotes from vendors in a timely mannerUnder the direction of a Project Superintendent assist in the field management for construction projectsEstablish and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractorsCoordinate and work with subcontracts to ensure quality workmanship and on time/budget project completion Coordinates and supervises construction activities on and off baseAnalyze project specifications and drawings to determine scope of workAssist with the preparation and maintenance of construction, manpower, and other schedulesPrepare, maintain and track necessary paperwork: submittals, change orders, daily reports, Assist with project close out
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the direction of a Project Manager assist in project management for construction projects

- Secure quotes from vendors in a timely manner

- Coordinates and supervises construction activities on and off base

- Assist with project close out
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to enter, exit vehicle
- Drive Company Vehicle (pickup truck - light duty)
- Access and remove items from pickup bed
- Process paperwork (computer data entry)
- Navigate software
- Use ladders and PPE appropriately
