Assistant Project Manager
Your responsibilities will include: Administer purchase orders and maintain procurement records. Analyze project estimates to develop an accurate BOM. Create and maintain a purchase log to track procurement progress. Source materials, ensuring compliance with project specifications and budgets. Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to optimize cost savings. Confirm lead times, availability, and delivery schedules with suppliers. Monitor material orders, proactively addressing potential delays. Coordinate material deliveries with project schedules. Collaborate with project managers and estimators to verify material requirements. Communicate procurement schedules and potential risks to project teams. Maintain strong vendor and subcontractor relationships. Resolve material discrepancies, shortages, and quality concerns. Manage procurement costs to align with project budgets. Maintain organized records of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices. Travel as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
ABOUT THE JOB
To thrive in this role, you'll need: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Five to ten years of procurement or engineering experience in a construction field setting. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Understanding of business principles, including contract language, bonds, insurance, commercial terms, logistics, and freight.
