Fayetteville Technical Community College Transition Tech (Building Construction Technology)

This Mobile Structural & Pipe Welding course provides instruction on the principles and practices of welding. Emphasis is on the welding processes such as SMAW (stick), GMAW (mig), TAW (tig), and oxyacetylene welding. Additional topics include human resource development, OSHA 30 Construction, and small business set-up.

ABOUT THE JOB

Structural welder either employed by industry or self-employed as a mobile welder.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform structural welding using SMAW (stick), GMAW (mig), TAW (tig), and oxyacetylene welding techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of SMAW, GMAW, TAW, and oxyacetylene welding processes
• Understanding of human resource development
• Familiarity with OSHA 30 Construction standards
• Knowledge of small business set-up
