Pastoral Internship
To provide training for men to serve as a pastor of a local church. This training will provide hands on experience in the day to day operations of a local church and the day to day task of a pastor/minister.
ABOUT THE JOB
Pastor in Training is To learn, train and receive hands on instruction in the role of pastor of a local church. Learning and training will consists of the following: How to study Scripture; How to preach; How to teach; How to visit shut-ins, unbelievers, and the sick; How to perform funerals and weddings. Training will include the day to day operations of a local church and include one-on-one mentoring sessions. The learning environment will be one of pastoral meetings, one-on-one conversations, opportunities for preaching and teaching, as well as administration duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn how to study Scripture
- Learn how to preach
- Learn how to teach
- Learn how to visit shut-ins, unbelievers, and the sick
- Learn how to perform funerals and weddings
- Participate in the day-to-day operations of a local church
- Engage in one-on-one mentoring sessions
- Attend pastoral meetings
- Participate in one-on-one conversations
- Opportunities for preaching and teaching
- Handle administration duties
QUALIFICATIONS
- Willingness to worship with Brookwood Baptist Church during Sunday worship services
- Working toward meeting the qualifications of elder as described in 1 Timothy 1:3-7
- Must be a man
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY
Participant must be willing to worship with Brookwood Baptist Church during our Sunday worship services. Participant must be working toward meeting the qualifications of elder in 1 Timothy 1:3-7. Participant must be a man.
