Applicants will receive a wide range of hands on training and experience in the high demand field of auto mechanical repair and maintenance. Gain an understanding of not just vehicle anatomy, but the operations and functionalities of the automotive industry as a whole. Work side by side with technicians who have a combined 60+ years of experience. The intent is to build a resume, and develop new skills, applicable in many of the most important real world situations in life, to become more resourceful and gain confidence in society.
*Understanding - Gain knowledge on how vehicles operate. Become proficient in the composition of a variety of automobiles and know how to identify common trouble areas. Vehicle maintenance plays a large role here, as you learn to recognize diminishing components. *Evaluate - Acknowledge what the problem is and why. Troubleshoot the vehicle both physically and with computers where applicable to find the cause of the issue. Trainee will deal frequently with vehicle trouble codes that prevent the vehicle from passing state inspections. As well as correcting unsafe driving conditions or remedying minor inconveniences such as unwanted noises. *Application - Take the necessary steps to remedy the problem. Dissect the vehicle. This could be the removal and installation of whole components or the removal, repair and replacement of affected parts. This can include tires, emission related components, valve train, suspension, brakes, HVAC elements or even aftermarket equipment. *Confirmation - Verify the problem is solved. The use of high tech diagnostic equipment may be used to guarantee the effectiveness of the repair. Comparing before and after data charts of the vehicles report.
Drivers license required. Applicants are responsible for all provisions besides tools which will be lent for training purposes. Mandatory durable, dark work clothes and closed toe footwear. Standard hours are 9AM - 5PM.
