The Data Engineer designs, builds, and maintains robust data pipelines and infrastructure to support the company's supply chain and logistics operations. This role focuses on ingesting, transforming, and storing large volumes of data from sources like transportation systems, inventory databases, ERP platforms, and IoT sensors to enable real-time analytics, forecasting, and decision-making. Tailored for transitioning service members with military experience in data management, IT systems, or logistics intelligence, the position bridges military technical skills to civilian data-driven supply chain optimization in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, process, and store data from diverse sources (e.g., SAP/ERP, logistics tracking systems, carrier APIs, warehouse management). Build and optimize data models, warehouses, and lakes for supply chain analytics (e.g., inventory levels, shipment delays, demand forecasting). Ensure data quality, integrity, and security through monitoring, validation, and reconciliation processes. Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, logistics teams, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver reliable data assets. Implement data integration solutions using cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and tools like Apache Spark, Airflow, or dbt. Support real-time and batch processing for logistics metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, cost per shipment, route efficiency). Troubleshoot pipeline issues, optimize performance, and automate workflows to reduce manual effort. Contribute to data governance, compliance (e.g., data privacy, regulatory standards), and documentation. Participate in cross-functional projects to integrate data solutions with supply chain tools and enable predictive capabilities. Conduct testing, deployment, and monitoring of data infrastructure changes.
