Program Overview: This is designed to prepare a transitioning U.S. service member for a Service Engineer role on CloudFit Software’s Engineering organization. The program blends structured learning with hands-on experience. Over the program, the trainee will progress through ten core modules covering CloudFit’s service areas (from The CloudFit Way culture orientation to advanced Engineering), while simultaneously completing CloudFit’s internal Badge certifications and preparing for Professional Certification exams. At completion, the participant will have: • Internalized CloudFit’s mission-driven approach to running mission-critical workloads securely and the SERVE values (Servant Leadership, Extreme Accountability, Results, Velocity, Empowerment).• Gained practical skills in cloud architecture, DevSecOps, and IT operations through hands-on projects and real-world scenarios.• Completed CloudFit internal Badge certifications (Badges 1–5) aligned to operational proficiency and tooling.• Prepared for and (target) achieved one or more professional certifications during the internship period from the list:o CompTIA Security+ - requiredo Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ900) - optionalo Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ104) – optionalo Other pre-approved professional certification - optional• Built relationships with mentors and leaders via structured check-ins and cross-team exposure.
Position Description: Service Engineer, CloudFit Software (Engineering Team). In this role, the participant will automate, administer, and secure production workloads across CloudFit’s customer base (enterprise, commercial, and government). Responsibilities include developing and maintaining automation and reliability tooling (scripting, custom integrations, self-healing mechanisms); systems and network administration across cloud platforms; integrating platforms such as M365 tenants, Kubernetes clusters, and containerized workloads; monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis; capacity planning and performance tuning; and operating within evolving compliance standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, CMMC).
