VEEP SD08 electrical training pre-apprenticeship program. There is no cost for participants for training, books, or materials. Travel to and from training, housing, room, board, and transportation during training are the responsibility of the participant.
Inside Wire Electrical workers install, maintain, and repair electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems in homes, businesses, and factories. Electrical workers work indoors and outdoors in nearly every type of facility. Almost all electricians work full-time, which may include evenings and weekends. Electrical workers learn their trade through a registered apprenticeship program that is typically low-cost or no-cost to the student. A high-school diploma or equivalent is required to begin your apprenticeship and career in the trade. Most jurisdictions require Inside Wire Electricians to be licensed by the state or local governmental agency, as applicable. The apprenticeship is designed to result in licensure. See O-NET code 47-2111.00.
