VETCOMM is looking for Veteran Claim Associates who play a pivotal role in assisting veterans in understanding the VA benefits they have earned and support them in filling their VA Disability & Compensation claims. During their SkillBridge program, service members will be required to work up to 40 hours per week for three months, which equates to approximately 480 hours of OTJ training during their internship. During our VetComm SkillBridge Internship Training Program, the Veterans Claim Interns play a pivotal role in providing valuable assistance to veterans by explaining benefit programs and entitlement criteria, evaluating claims, and facilitating the adjudication process. As a claim representative, they will ensure that veterans receive the benefits they rightfully deserve by meticulously analyzing claims material, gathering evidence, and helping them make eligibility determinations. These contributions will significantly impact the lives of our nation's veterans with us here at VetComm. Note: This internship can be up to 6-months with command approval.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Veterans Claims Associate plays a pivotal role in providing valuable assistance to veterans by explaining benefit programs and entitlement criteria, evaluating claims, and facilitating the adjudication process. As a claim representative, they will ensure that veterans receive the benefits they rightfully deserve by meticulously analyzing claims material, gathering evidence, and helping them make eligibility determinations. These contributions will significantly impact the lives of our nation's veterans with us here at VetComm. Key Responsibilities:Eligibility Determination: Assess eligibility for the requested benefits, taking into account military service adequacy, medical evidence, and employability.Medical Disabilities: Determine what medical disabilities need to be claimed for compensation so medical examinations, re-examinations, or expert opinions can be requested for diseases or injuries that incurred in service.Claims Review: Conduct a comprehensive review of disabilities being claimed, ensuring that all pertinent issues are addressed. Interpret and apply for VA Disability.Veteran Outreach: Engage with veterans, their representatives, and advocates through in-person, online, and phone interviews. Provide clear and comprehensive explanations of the full range of VA benefits and related programs, assisting veterans in understanding their entitlements.Correspondence Management: Create and distribute correspondence that streamlines the communication process and ensures a coordinated effort to serve veterans with their disability and compensation claims.Data Processing: Use a customer relationship management (CRM) system to input relevant data for claims support and processing to ensure effective tracking of their claims. Maintain accurate records to facilitate efficient claims submission and adjudication.VETCOMM will be offering positions in VA claims services, customer service, sales, business operations, financial accounting, conversion, marketing, website development, programming and additional positions depending on the business requirements here at VETCOMM.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY

VETCOMM Headquarters is based in San Diego CA and we work Active Duty Service Members, Reserve, Guard, Military Spouse, and Veterans. This can be in person or virtual / work from home depending on each applicants current duty station. If the applicant is OCONUS, the intern will still be able to participate in the internship. However, employment after the internship is not guaranteed.
