Acterra Group - Business Development Manager - Internship
The primary training for the Business Development Manager will be conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams, with regular virtual meetings and mentorship sessions. In-person training will take place in Marion, Iowa. Additional travel throughout the United States will be required; however, specific locations cannot be confirmed in advance, as travel will be determined based on active business leads and event-related business needs relevant to the position.
ABOUT THE JOB
Business Development Manager Duties/Responsibilities: • Market Research & Strategy: Identify and analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to develop and execute strategic business development plans.• Client Acquisition & Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, focusing on building trust and understanding their needs.• Opportunity Identification: Generate leads, qualify prospects, and develop a robust pipeline of opportunities across commercial, federal, and industrial sectors.• Proposal Development: Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling proposals, presentations, and bids that address client requirements.• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, and project teams to ensure a seamless handoff and successful project execution.• Sales Targets & Reporting: Meet or exceed established revenue goals and provide regular updates on sales activities, forecasts, and performance metrics.• Brand Representation: Represent Acterra Group at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to enhance the company’s visibility and reputation.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of B2B sales processes and client engagement strategies.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically while executing tactically to achieve goals.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with construction and manufacturing software is a plus.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
