The County of San Mateo is hosting an internship opportunity with the Human Resources Department.
This internship will focus on learning all the requirements expected of a Human Resources Technician. Under the supervision of an Advisor, the intern will perform a variety of responsibilities, such as clerical, administrative, recruitment services, and client relations as an encouraging team member. Interns would be asked to perform a range of duties from very basic activities to those requiring higher skill levels to enhance a department’s operations. By doing so, interns will learn about the civil service rules, county policies and guidelines, and benefits and services offered. This is an excellent role for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys variety, and wants to make an impact across multiple service areas.

This full-time position follows a Mon–Fri schedule and currently offers a hybrid arrangement, with a combination of remote and on-site work. It is anticipated that two on-site workdays will be required to align with operational needs and current County requirements, but it is subject to change based on business need. Additionally, participation in our internship does not guarantee future employment. As our organization adheres to Civil Service Commission guidelines, all positions require a competitive selection process.
