ABOUT THE JOB
A Millwright, or Industrial Mechanic, is a skilled tradesperson who installs, dismantles, maintains, repairs, and reassembles machinery in an industrial setting. Duties include: - Installation, maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment - Machine troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and preventative maintenance - Disassembly of machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs - Reassembly of equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs - Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment or machinery - Reading blueprints and sketches proficiently to fabricate equipment and make modifications - Fabrication, repair, or replace: - chains - belt conveyors - gear boxes / drive chains - hydraulics & pneumatics - welding / cutting - using power tools
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation, maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment
- Machine troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and preventative maintenance
- Disassembly of machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs
- Reassembly of equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs
- Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment or machinery
- Reading blueprints and sketches proficiently to fabricate equipment and make modifications
- Fabrication, repair, or replace various components like chains, belt conveyors, gear boxes / drive chains, hydraulics & pneumatics
- Welding / cutting using power tools
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a current participant of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program
- Education preferred: Mechanical Engineer Tech, Associates Degree or related Trade Certification and trainings
- 2-5 years of experience in maintenance
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Active Driver's License
- Experience working with industrial / heavy equipment
- Familiar with following established processes and procedures
- Can work in a team environment, or independently, that is committed to working safe while focused on improvement and quality of work
- Welding certifications are an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting not required, but desirable
- Ability to meet deadlines
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY
- Must be a current participant of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program- Education preferred: Mechanical Engineer Tech, Associates Degree or related Trade Certification and trainings (i.e. Military Occupations Courses or Apprenticeships) - Years of Experience Preferred: 2-5 years of experience in maintenance- Strong mechanical aptitude- Active Driver's License- The successful candidate will have experience working with industrial / heavy equipment- Familiar with following established processes and procedures- Can work in a team environment, or independently, that is committed to working safe while focused on improvement and quality of work- Welding certifications are an asset- Strong interpersonal skills- Proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting not required, but desirable- Ability to meet deadlines
