This internship provides transitioning military members with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience necessary to become proficient Cyber Security Analysts by providing comprehensive instruction in security operations, policies, and terminology as well cybersecurity best practices and concepts, all within a supportive professional environment. Through progressive weekly training, participants will develop technical competency, operational independence, and contribute to real-world projects in the Virginia Beach Information Security department.
Perform critical information security services in the operation of the City's information security program including vulnerability management, security and event monitoring, threat evaluation, risk management, incident response, and compliance activities. Responsible for the operations of various security related applications, participating in security incidents, triaging network and cybersecurity events and monitoring the City’s network and cybersecurity systems. Will be expected to participate in a twenty-four by seven (24x7) operational rotation as a member of the network and security operations center staff
