At Superior Bulk we operate over 80 trucks in the dry bulk and dump truck markets serving Arizona, Southern Nevada, Southern California, Southern Utah, New Mexico and West Texas from 4 full-service yards and other satellite facilities. The Fleet manager will manage the full fleet of primary and secondary equipment and continually focuses on achieving market base profitability through effective management of all fleet and maintenance activities within the assigned area, including cost control, management development, and high training and safety standards.
ABOUT THE JOB
Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Ensures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements. Conducts fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met.• Manages shop mechanics to ensure performance and cost focus across the area.• Manage effective utilization of vehicle assets.• Ensure maintenance shops are adequately staffed, and mechanics are properly trained.• Ensures vehicle management systems are effectively utilized.• Complies with and ensures adherence to Superior Bulk standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.• Meets all financial review dates and supervisor directed programs in a timely fashion.• Assists in budget process as required.• Assists in creating a positive team-oriented environment through employee development and motivation.• Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the maintenance shops through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs.• Oversees personnel needs of the department include selecting, coaching, training staff and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.• Motivates, coaches, counsels and disciplines staff according to Superior Bulk’s policies and procedures and ensures that mechanics are in compliance with the standards in counseling and disciplinary steps.• Provides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.• Assists in any new special projects that may occur.
