Building Condition Assessors Full time
The Facility Assessor Training Program will provide candidates with training to be able to independently conduct on-site assessments of building systems, including roof, envelope, structural, architectural, mechanical, and/or electrical systems, and site infrastructure. As part of your hands on training, you'll learn how to: collect data and reporting through your on site assessment, review drawings, and prepare detailed reports, including findings, recommendations, and budgets. The training program will provide one on one and team training so that you will be able to effectively write high-quality reports, manage project timelines and costs, and provide responsive client support.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Facility Assessor Training Program is Hybrid, where you will be working between your home office and our client sites across the United States. You will be responsible for independently carry out on-site visual assessment for Roof, Building Envelope, Structural and Architectural building systems and/or Mechanical & Electrical building systems including liaison with clients as needed;• In most cases, utilize proprietary software for data collection and reporting – such software includes but is not limited to: SLAM CAP, VFA, facility, and AssetPlanner;• Independently review drawings for quantity take-offs and prepare multi-discipline FCAs, reserve fund studies, capital planning projects, technical/building audits or other investigative reports complete with observations, conclusions, recommendations, and repair budgets;• Maintain a high level of product quality; technically, grammatically, and as per company master report formats. Ensure draft documents are prepared to the level expected by the Project Manager and Peer Reviewer. Plan and schedule sufficient time for the reviewer;• Be cognizant of and/or manage time and project costs to ensure project profitability;• May include completing inventory of building systems, including collecting relevant information, such as Make, Model, Serial Number, etc, and applying an equipment tag containing a bar code or QR code.
RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS
- Background or prior experience within a mechanical, electrical, architectural or facilities management field
- A passion to learn and to become part of our North American Team
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY
A desire to learn a new field of work. Background or prior experience within a mechanical, electrical, architectural or facilities management field is an asset. A passion to learn, travel and to become part of our North American Team! Candidates do not need to live near our Florida head office but are required to live within 1 hour of travel distance from an airport where they can fly to and from our client sites. Our training program will be conducted virtually from your home office and at various client locations across the United States, and the company will arrange for travel. While all candidates will be considered, it would be preferred if candidates have basic knowledge of: Construction materials and products, building components, material deterioration mechanisms and repair and restoration methods; Knowledge of building systems;Strong technical writing skills;Excellent organizational and time management skills to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget;Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel;Effective, responsive communication skills, both verbally and written;Must be willing to work at heights, including climbing ladders and accessing rooftops; A valid driver’s license and access to insured vehicle for travel to project sites is preferred (work related mileage is reimbursed); Ability to travel for up to a week at a time is required (work related expenses are reimbursed).
