Nonprofit Management
Crux Wilderness’s DoD SkillBridge program provides a pathway for transitioning service members to build essential skills in non-profit management and administration. Over a structured training program, participants learn strategic planning, program development, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement, all in a non-profit setting focused on serving veterans through wilderness therapy. Each component builds foundational knowledge and hands-on experience, equipping participants for a variety of roles in mission-driven organizations.The Non-Profit Management Trainee program focuses on critical administrative skills, helping participants to understand the full lifecycle of non-profit operations. Training modules are designed to impart both theoretical knowledge and practical skills that are directly applicable to the mission of Crux Wilderness and beyond.
ABOUT THE JOB
Non-Profit Operations & Leadership: Organizational structure, governance, board relations, and managing mission-driven teams.Financial Management: Budgeting, financial reporting, grant management, and donor stewardship.Program Development: Program design, goal-setting, and impact evaluation.Fundraising & Development: Techniques for grant writing, digital fundraising, and long-term donor relations.Community Engagement: Building partnerships and establishing a presence in the community to further the organization’s mission.Engage fully in all instructional and practical sessions.Complete hands-on projects that apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations.Collaborate on a final capstone project that demonstrates competencies in strategic planning, budgeting, or program development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn and apply skills in organizational structure, governance, board relations, and managing mission-driven teams
- Understand and manage financial aspects including budgeting, financial reporting, grant management, and donor stewardship
- Design and develop programs with clear goals and measurable impacts
- Apply techniques in grant writing, digital fundraising, and maintaining long-term donor relations
- Build partnerships and establish community presence to further the organization's mission
- Engage fully in all instructional and practical sessions
- Complete hands-on projects that apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations
- Collaborate on a final capstone project demonstrating competencies in strategic planning, budgeting, or program development
