Civic/Community Engagement Associate or Coordinator SUMMARY: Manage a growing portfolio of government and foundation partners and engage them in the work and mission of the organization to solicit their resources and expertise. Provide daily administration and support to the organization’s partnership and income generation efforts from government agencies and foundations. The position has substantial internal management responsibilities as well as significant interaction with the senior management, other staff, and the general public.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Shares the Agency’s goals and strategies to key stakeholders across the state for their advice and feedback.Coordinate with other advocacy groups, legal aid organizations, and state agencies and other stakeholders to improve access to medically necessary services, effective education programs, and community-based programs for individuals with ASD/DD. Serves as a liaison in support of the outreach, advocacy and relationship-building efforts of the Board of Directors and the CEO to a carefully identified set of influential leaders in the government, nonprofit, and community leadership and advocacy spaces.Cultivate and steward a growing portfolio of approximately 30 current and prospective financial supporters and/or community partners. Ensures that each organization in the portfolio receives continuous, customized attention and ongoing engagement in furtherance of its relationship with and support of WAA. On average, conducts a minimum of one and an optimum of three personal contacts with current and prospective supporters each business day.Provides direct, efficient, responsive and personalized support for the CEO to establish and build strong and productive relationships with current and prospective civic partners and investors. Work with the Grants Program Manager to ensure that each partner receives customized follow up reports that explain the use of the funding and the benefits created.Ensures that each contact report with a current and prospective partner and investor is entered according to office policy and procedures no later than 24 hours after occurrence.Ensures the donor database is continuously updated with accurate, appropriately organized information.Contributes to the production, distribution and analysis of bi-weekly and monthly pipeline reports that summarize the current relationship stage and activity levels with all current and prospective partners and supporters among foundations, government agencies and other institutions.Support the development and implementation of Investments & Partnerships office planning efforts, including policies and procedures, and implementation of goals.Act as a representative of WAA at conferences and stakeholder events.Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications: Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail. Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work well independently, as well as being a contributor in a team environment. Work with confidential information and show discretion. Flexible, creative, solution oriented.
