The Paralegal SkillBridge program prepares transitioning service members for entry-level paralegal and legal support roles in law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. Participants receive instruction in legal research, legal writing, document preparation, case management, and professional ethics aligned with state-approved curriculum standards. This program emphasizes analytical thinking, attention to detail, and professional communication skills needed to support attorneys and legal teams in civilian legal environments.
As an entry-level paralegal or legal assistant, graduates may support attorneys by conducting legal research, drafting correspondence and legal documents, organizing case files, managing records, and assisting with trial or hearing preparation. Typical duties include reviewing legal documents, summarizing information, maintaining confidentiality, and communicating professionally with clients and legal professionals. Graduates are prepared for roles such as paralegal assistant, legal assistant, or legal support specialist, with opportunities for advancement through continued education and experience.
