Core4ce LLC is seeking a transitioning Service member for a 60 to 180-day DoD SkillBridge fellowship supporting corporate and business unit leadership and operations. The Business Management Fellow will assist with execution of business objectives, operational cadence, performance reporting, and strategic initiatives in a cleared environment. This role is designed for senior military leaders translating operational and staff experience into business management within the defense and national security sector.
Key Responsibilities Business Unit Operations & Execution Support day-to-day corporate business planning management activities, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities, customer commitments, and internal performance targets. Coordinate corporate business planning operating rhythm (weekly reviews, action-item tracking, executive readouts, meeting preparation and follow-up). Assist with resourcing coordination and cross-functional alignment (program management, operations, finance, HR, contracts, capture/sales). Performance Management & Executive Reporting Develop, maintain, and brief corporate business planning dashboards and metrics. Prepare leadership briefings, business case analysis, decision papers, and executive summaries for internal stakeholders. Identify trends, constraints, and risks; recommend mitigation plans and decision options. Strategic Planning & Growth Support Support future corporate planning activities and initiatives, including prioritization, proposed operating plans, and execution tracking. Contribute to market/customer research, opportunity shaping, and capture support as needed (in coordination with the Chief Growth Officer and business units). Assist with proposal and solution development support (writing, compliance checks, schedules, pricing inputs coordination as appropriate). Process Improvement & Governance Ensure compliance with corporate certifications (ISO and CMMI Level 3) and other corporate business processes. Support continuous improvement of proposed initiatives, including implementation and adoption support by subordinate business units. Stakeholder & Customer Engagement Interface professionally with internal corporate leaders and when appropriate, external customers/partners in a cleared setting. Support preparation for customer engagements (agendas, read-aheads, follow-ups, action tracking). Shape Learning Objectives (SkillBridge Outcomes) By the end of the fellowship, the fellow will be able to: Understand core corporate business functions. Understand business unit management functions: operating cadence, performance tracking, and cross-functional execution. Translate military operational planning into corporate business planning, execution management, and decision support. Produce executive-level deliverables (dashboards, plans, briefings, decision memos, SOPs). Demonstrate understanding of defense-sector business drivers: growth, delivery performance, compliance, and customer mission outcomes. Shape Required Qualifications Eligibility for DoD SkillBridge and within the final 60 to 180 days of active-duty service. Active TS clearance with SSBI (minimum). Master’s degree (required). Demonstrated business experience (e.g., operations, program/project management, finance, strategy, logistics, consulting, or equivalent leadership/management experience). Completion of advanced military schooling, including one or more of the following (required/preferred as indicated by candidate background): Service War College Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Level II Strong executive communication skills (briefing and writing), analytical capability, and experience leading/working through teams. Shape Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting DoD, IC, or federal government missions in operational, staff, or program environments. Familiarity with P&L drivers, forecasting, staffing/utilization, and contract execution metrics. Competency with Excel/PowerPoint; experience with dashboards and reporting. Work will be performed primarily in Arlington, VA, with potential engagements in secure spaces as required. Shape Mentorship & Evaluation Intern will be assigned to the Chief Strategy Officer as their sponsor/mentor and receive a structured onboarding plan. Weekly check-ins and monthly milestone reviews focused on demonstrated competencies and completion of defined deliverables. End-of-program out-brief summarizing accomplishments, portfolio artifacts, and recommended next steps.
