The Mobile Communications America, Inc. (MCA) program teaches candidates how to install, program, maintain, and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment and systems within the radio frequency (RF), data, and security industries. Candidates will get hands on training and mentorship in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing mobile communications equipment. They will also learn how to operate testing equipment and the basics of RF theory, enterprise level security systems (access controls, CCTV, etc.) and data solutions (Wifi Broadband, IoT, LTE, etc.). They will have to opportunity to serve our customers in the public safety, law enforcement, healthcare, education, commercial and other critical industries that serve our communities. Our technicians and installers work out of service shops across the Southeast. Most of the work is at customer sites, with short and long distances to some unique places. Sometimes you will work independently with a mentor, and other times as a team. We also take emergency calls and engage in large scale projects as part of our service commitment to be there when the customer needs us most. Opportunities can range from 60-180 days to accommodate the service member's approved timeline.

ABOUT THE JOB

Radio Frequency (RF) Installer / Technician: Install, program, and maintain complex communication equipment to get customers up and running. Fixing the system if things go wrong and bringing communications back online to public safety, hospitals, utilities, manufacturing, and other mission critical customers. As well as assist in the installation of mobile radio devices which will include installing electrical wiring, antenna systems, route antenna, data, and power cabling, and apply a variety of electrical connectors for police, fire, EMS, etc. Security Installation / Technician: Learn and support the installation of basic enterprise level security services, systems, and platforms such as Access Controls, CCTV, etc. Learn to install pathways, grounding, fire -stopping, cable trays, racks, cabinets, etc. Build comprehension of mechanical systems, digital circuits, and electrical systems. Data / Low Voltage Installation: Learn and support the installation and support of various cable types (coaxial, fiber, Cat 5/6, etc.) in commercial and residential environments. Become familiar with with installation of DAS wireless equipment consistent with manufacturer and company guidelines. Customer Service / Administrative Support: Support the administrative and customer service functions of the location to include answering phones, assisting in person customers, receiving equipment repairs via walk-in or UPS and create work tickets for repair, sales support, inventory control, shipping / receiving, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate testing equipment and learn basics of RF theory, enterprise level security systems, and data solutions.
  • Serve customers in public safety, law enforcement, healthcare, education, and commercial sectors.
  • Engage in emergency calls and large scale projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hands-on training in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing mobile communications equipment.
  • Familiarity with enterprise level security systems (Access Controls, CCTV, etc.) and data solutions (Wifi Broadband, IoT, LTE, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites across the Southeast, including short and long distances.
