Prepare for a challenging, high-paying career as a telecommunications/network cable installer or technician with this 8-week program! You'll learn the basic skills and knowledge required of an entry-level installer/technician: - Fundamental principles of cabling for both copper and fiber optic systems -Standards and codes for telecommunications, transmission principles, installation, termination, testing, retrofitting, pathways and spaces, grounding, bonding and protection, fire stopping, and life safety and field coordination. -Operation of industry-related equipment (bucket truck, mini-excavator, etc). WHAT YOU GET - Training to become an entry-level cable installer. -Academic and field skills necessary for entry-level workers. -On-the-job safety training. -Training in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), confined spaces, CPR/First Aid/AED, Flagger, and OSHA 10 safety. Students may also obtain their Class-A Commercial Driver's License (with an automatic restriction). -Resume and job interview assistance are available. -Job placement assistance is available. ABOUT THE JOB

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation of telecommunications/network cables including both copper and fiber optic systems.
- Operation of industry-related equipment such as bucket trucks and mini-excavators.
- Testing, retrofitting, and maintenance of installed cabling systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of fundamental principles of cabling for both copper and fiber optic systems.
- Knowledge of standards and codes for telecommunications, transmission principles, installation, termination, testing, retrofitting, pathways and spaces, grounding, bonding and protection, fire stopping, life safety and field coordination.
- Ability to operate industry-related equipment.
